FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
|
- Q: My images appear grey, except for the first time!
A: The images are loaded from disk as .jpg files, resized and converted
to .bmp files. The .bmp files are stored in the 'covers' folder
(default locarion = c:/program files/scorpion/covers).
The problem is caused by an old version of your display driver, and updating it,
will likely solve your problem. If you cannot update your display driver for
some reason, a workaround is available. Edit the 'settings.ini'file and set
'save_scaled_bitmaps=no'. (This will however result in slow scroll response and
large diskspace usage if your album covers are large.)
- Q: Can I use the mouse, instead of the keyboard?
A: No. Not untill a touchscreen version is planned.
- Q: I don't have any album covers. Why is that?
A: You need to download them from internet, or scan them in, using
your original cd booklets. The program expects a cover image in each album
directory.
- Q: Some of my mp3's are silent, untill I pause and unpause!
A: This is a bug in the default mp3 decoder and occurs with some mp3's.
To get rid of this problem, install a different mp3 decoder, for example
'ffdshow'. (via google : 'download ffdshow') Note, read the tips when using
ffdshow under the Support-tab.
- Q: Can I play .ape files ?
A: Yes you can. Download and install the 'Ape Directshow filter'.
(via google : 'download ape directshow filter')
- Q: I can sometimes hear ticks in my audio during loud parts !
A: Assuming that your music is tick-freem it is likely caused by external software
that controls volume, like ddfshow. Turn it off to get rid of the distortion.
